About QR Codes

QR Code

We’re using QR codes to enhance the Conference & Expo experience.

A QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a special kind of bar code that can be read by mobile phones and contains a link to a website or other online information. We are going to use QR Codes to enhance the learning experience at PARTNERS with quick access to additional information through the click of a button.

To use QR codes:

Download a QR Code reader to your phone.
Then, scan the code wherever you find one.

Download a Reader to your phone.

The first step to scanning a QR Code is to download a reader. For your phone to work it needs a camera and a connection to the Internet. You will need to go out to the Internet through your mobile device and download a QR reader. Here are a few of our suggestions:

iPhone: I-Nigma
Windows Mobile: Bee Tagg
BlackBerry: I-Nigma or BeeTagg
Android: Google Zxing Reader
Nokia: I-Nigma
Once your reader is installed, you need to find a QR Code to scan.

Scan the Code.

It’s easy to scan a code. First, select the QR reader on your phone and activate the application. Then, aim your camera at the code, the camera should be centered and on level with the tag, just like it was evaluating a fine painting. You also want to make sure your phone is close enough that the code takes up the majority of the screen but is never cut off by the edges.

Depending on the reader and your type of smart phone, you may have to take the photo yourself or it might do it automatically. The reader will then decode the QR code and present you a link. Follow that link, and you are now viewing additional valuable content.

Still have questions?

What is a QR Code?
A. A QR code is a kind of 2D-Barcode, used all over the world to store a small digital message. All you have to do is point your reader, available for most smart phones with a camera, at the code and it will load the information, usually a link or contact information.

How is PARTNERS using QR Codes?
A. QR Codes can be found on various promotional materials used in conjunction with the Conference & Expo. These codes will allow you to instantaneously view additional information about the Conference & Expo as well as products and services offered by Teradata and the Partners User Group. QR Codes make searching for additional information simple.

How do I get a QR Code reader?
A. There are QR code applications available in the iTunes Store, the Blackberry Store, and a QR reader comes preinstalled on Google Android phones. You can also do a quick Internet search to find the QR Code that’s right for your phone.

How do I know if my phone supports QR Codes?
A. Your phone must have a camera. It also needs a data plan or Internet connection. If your phone has all of these it is likely there is a QR reader for your phone.
